The Society of Cable Telecommunications
Engineers, SCTE, is a professional engineering association comprised of more
than 74 chapters or meeting groups and more than 15,000 members serving both
domestic as well as international members. SCTE has been supporting its members
for more than 35 years.
"SCTE is dedicated to advancing the careers of broadband's engineering and
operations professionals by providing member services and resources focused on
three key areas: Professional Development, Information and Standards." (SCTE

SCTE-NJ is one of the oldest of SCTE chapters, founded in the early 80s.
Meetings include technical presentations from Vendors, Operators, SCTE National
Officers, Consultants and cover a range of topics and include the latest
Television Display Technology, system powering, battery maintenance, optical
advances, competition, status of regulation, to name a few of the recent
technical session titles.
In the last 4 years, SCTE-NJ has expanded from morning only presentations to a
full day including a buffet lunch.
SCTE-NJ meets 6 times a year with our spring meeting being our vendor show.
Also, since 2001, SCTE-NJ has sponsored a golf tournament for its members and
supporters. Every year, SCTE-NJ has filled the Golf outing. In 2005, we are
exploring a larger 27 hole golf course in an effort to allow all who are
interested, an opportunity to play and not turn anyone away.
This site is the portal for the New Jersey chapter to include the latest meeting
information, our chapter officers and board members, Newsletters, and handouts
if available provided by our chapter speakers.

Television Operator, a CATV Vendor, a Local Exchange Carrier employee, a student
interested in learning more about Cable Television technology, an engineering
consultant, or someone with an interest in Cable Television Technology, you are
invited to join our mailing list. We would
also like to add you to our mailing list if you are member of SCTE National
Chapter and live in New Jersey or New York Metropolitan area. When you have
added your name to the mailing list, we will alert you to technical sessions,
vendor fairs, golf outings and all other activities of the SCTE-NJ chapter."
